The Comfortable Classic Route
Known as the 'Coca-Cola Route', Marangu is the oldest and most well-established route on Kilimanjaro. It's the only route offering hut accommodation instead of camping, making it ideal for those who prefer more comfort during their climb.

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Begin at Marangu Gate (1,860m) with registration and briefing. Trek through the beautiful rainforest with chances to spot blue monkeys and various bird species. Arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700m) with comfortable A-frame sleeping huts.

Begin at Marangu Gate (1,860m) with registration and briefing. Trek through the beautiful rainforest with chances to spot blue monkeys and various bird species. Arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700m) with comfortable A-frame sleeping huts.

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Leave the rainforest and enter the moorland zone. Pass through the transition zone with stunning views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Arrive at Horombo Hut (3,720m) with spectacular mountain views.

Acclimatization Day - Zebra Rock
Important acclimatization day with optional hike to Zebra Rock (4,020m). This day significantly improves your chances of summit success. Rest at Horombo Hut and enjoy the mountain views.

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Cross the lunar landscape of the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The terrain becomes increasingly barren as you approach Kibo Hut (4,703m), your summit base camp.

Summit Day - Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Start at midnight for the summit attempt to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Experience the incredible sunrise from Africa's highest point, then descend all the way back to Horombo Hut (3,720m).

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
Final descent through the moorland and rainforest back to Marangu Gate (1,860m). Collect your summit certificates and celebrate your achievement before transfer to Moshi.
