What experience do I need?
We strongly recommend previous high-altitude trekking experience (above 4,000m), excellent physical fitness, and mental preparation for extreme challenges. This route is not suitable for beginners.
What are the success rates?
Success rates on Umbwe are significantly lower (60-70%) compared to other routes due to the challenging acclimatization profile. Only attempt this route if you're prepared for the possibility of not reaching the summit.
